Clonmacnoise

On our overland journey this afternoon, we took a convenient pit stop at Clonmacnoise–a monastery founded by St. Ciarán of Roscommon (not to be confused with St. Cairán of Saigir).  The cathedral ruins, defunct roundhouses, and burial sites of the Kings of Connacht and Tara made an inspirational setting along the banks of the River Shannon.

Our writers traded ideas for flash fiction stories which they wrote from picturesque perches around this hallowed site.
